It was exactly this week last year, our lives changed dramatically.  We didn’t have any idea what we were in store for….  so many emotions, feelings, tears, and hope for tomorrow.  We had no idea if I would be here this year, considering the diagnosis… if I would be well enough, really we didnt know what God would do.  It started with awesome walks on the trail and being a fun loving dog mom to two chocolate lab pups… to many tests and procedures and many weekly appointments to the hospital and cancer center, with lots of uncertainty but lots of trust in God… and milestones to reach.  We celebrated Thanksgiving this past October with such joy and thankfulness.  God gave us the wisdom and knowledge we asked for.  A peace that surpassed all understand, an incredible hope for tomorrow and strength we couldn’t imagine.  So many scripture verses come to mind but I will leave that to our blog update.  Coming soon♡ Vanessa

Wordless Wednesday- October 27th

The coffee bar wall is almost completely covered with drywall…..

We have a strip of drywall to go on the bottomed then it is ready for seam filling. Yes that is our precious canned jars on the floor. We had to move the shelf.

You are probably wondering why the drywall did not go all the way to the doorway opening 🤔 well that is because the new opening is gonna be wider.

Yes, the plumbing will eventually be hidden too.

Winter Preparation Chores

Yes, I did say the “w” word. It’s hard to believe but we are half way through September and we have a big homestead chore to finish.

We heat our house primarily with wood, so every year Matt or Joey delivers our logs. Rusty cuts them to the appropriate size and I usually load up the tractor and they get stacked.

This year Rusty is doing most of the wood chore, I am helping when I can but most of it is his responsibility. He has been hard at work cutting and stacking. We have about 2+ chord of wood through the basement window that just needs to be split and stacked. That will be my chore once most of the canning and preserving is done.

We do share the responsibility of getting the wood prepped and it is such a nice feeling when most of it is stacked and ready to go.

It was such a beautiful day today so while I worked on a few garden chores and some canning prep my awesome hubby stacked…♡♡

My scary shadow
No ocd tendencies whatsoever….
The grass has never been so green at this time of year.
This is what it looked like last year.
Not bad….

In the last picture you can see my log splitter…. nifty little thing… makes great kindling too♡ Vanessa
