Wordless Wednesday – January 12th

The insulation master at his best. Even on the very cold but warmer day in January he works hard to get her done. It’s -12 as I type… was -24 this morning….. brrrr those are the temps without the windchill factored in.

Wiring and plumbing are roughed in and now we are insulating the addition.

Gonna be really nice having the extra bathroom…. and the new laundry/pantry area.

What else do you do on a snowy day waiting for the next 2 snowstorm/blizzards.

Add a bit of pink warmth♡

How about funky fridays

Didn’t get a chance to post our Wordless Wednesdays the last 2 weeks…..sorry, so let’s do something different today.

Funky Friday in the workshop. Russ is working hard bringing back new life to the old doors…. removing the old layers of paint and stain…. great job for someone with OCD tendencies…. he is meticulous!

Might need a new pair of gloves…

Wordless Wednesday – December 1st

It stopped raining long enough to do a couple outside things…..

I did some simple Christmas decorations for the greenhouse doors and our main door plus some white lights around the front of the “L”. I will get a night time picture later

Rusty worked on the two support posts for our addition. The footings and concrete posts have all been dug to code but we are still finding some issues with the frost. This doesn’t make any sense but sometimes things don’t want go according to plan. He tweaked it and will be done in about hour.

Of course Murdoch is getting some sun and supervising the dig♡♡

HAPPY December 😊

Wordless Wednesday- Nov 10th

Barney….. chief critter catcher

Sorry, we did not post anything til now…. had a busy couple days with a sick kitty. He wasn’t well 2 days ago, started to improve yesterday a bit. Had some more serious symptoms today so he went to the walk in kitty hospital. (Atlantic Vet College) the bestest doctors ♡

He has some inflammation and pain so he on some meds for the next couple days. He had the nods on the way home and is now finally having a really good sleep. You can see the meds are taking away the pain and stress and letting him have a great sleep.

We don’t know exactly what he got into but something….. he has a heart murmur which makes things he goes through a little more stressful and serious for him… but he is one of our best critter catchers…

Wordless Wednesday – November 3rd

This could have been so very bad if was warmer outside today….. I was moving my compost pile when I disturbed a rather large hornet nest….

Fairly large hornet nest

They were not happy after I uprooted the hive… thank goodness for wasp and hornet spray…. and a Big thank you to God that today was cold. We might have been taking pictures of the inside of an ambulance or hospital room. 🐝 🐝🐝

Wordless Wednesday- October 20th

A little bit of food security for us♡

Farm to freezer (plate)

Daily “meat” chicken chores completed.
It was a cold drive, had to warm up by the fire.
We will have some really amazing food for a while: chicken wings, boney broth, roasts, stir fries, legs, liver, etc♡ we don’t waste much….
10lb chicken, a perfect “turkey size” for us. Those chicken breaststroke are big enough for a meal with leftovers.
The new upstairs freezer is full….all cut and ready to go. We have 12 whole chickens in the downstairs freezer for roasting.
